A Day in the Life

Wow guys, I am officially 20 years old. It's seriously so weird for me to say that.
20 means I'm actually growing up...*shudder*

Yesterday was the most epically busy day of my life.

I had to be to work at 8:00, so that meant waking up early to get ready. Gotta look presentable on your birthday. It's a must.

I worked on an EOB from 8:00 until 12:30. Then I had to leave to go to cadaver lab *shudder*
I swear, the happiest day of my life will be when I don't have to go to anymore cadaver labs.
We are studying blood vessels, so we were poking and prodding veins and arteries. My lab instructor compared arteries to al dente macaroni noodles. Forever ruined my appetite for macaroni.
We also had to draw the veins and arteries on a life sized chalk outline. My group finished super fast. We don't care if we don't win the doughnut prize for the best one.

By 3:30 I was heading back to work. I worked on that same stinking EOB until 6:30 when I had to get going to Microbiology lab.

I'm afraid I was a little bit scatterbrained through the whole lab. All I wanted to do was go home. My lab partner was very nice and put up with my absent-mindedness. Sorry Kylie!

Finally, at 8:13 I walked through the doors of my apartment. Sarah had cleaned the living room. Best birthday present EVER! However, all traces of my roommates were gone! I felt so so alone at that moment.

Sarah and Janalee eventually reappeared and we finished out the night by watching CSI, a late Taco Bell run my request, and eating cobbler that Derek so kindly made for me.

This new work schedule just might be the death of me. Good thing it's worth it.

Also, I didn't take any pictures of the celebration because, honestly, there was no celebration. However, I do have this picture from awhile ago for you to enjoy...
I went to the Utah State hockey game with some friends and this was the entertainment during one of the breaks. Little kids playing hockey= awesome!
Pinky wasn't very happy to be there though.

Sorry for the totally random picture.

Reasons to not show up late to a movie night

This is what happens when you show up late to a movie night that YOU planned. And it's at YOUR house.

"John, you shoot him with the Nerf gun to distract him. Tim, you come at him from the front while I take him down from the back. Alex, you initiate the dog pile. Emma..." ~Ryan

"I got the video camera." ~Emma

"Good work." ~Ryan

We sat around waiting for Zach to show up for a good twenty minutes. You would think that after living with Ryan for so long he would realize that when you leave Ryan in a room filled with fellow mischievous people Ryan will then take charge and plan some sort of attack.

I love the part where Alex starts giving him a noogie. hahaha

Forever and Ever!

Well folks, it finally happened!

Brendan and Witney were finally sealed for time and eternity in the Logan Temple on February 18, 2012.

The last few days have been pretty hectic, but I honestly could not be happier. I truly believe there is no one in this world who is better for Brendan than Witney is and I'm so SO happy that he found her. She fits into our family so well and she is strong and faithful and diligent.

I just have a few pictures from the reception because I accidentally forgot my camera (and jacket!) in the car when Bren and Wit emerged from the temple. I guess I'll just have to steal those pictures from Maci or Mom.

Witney, I love you and welcome to the family at last. Thank you for making my brother so happy and for sticking with him through thick and thin. You amaze me.

Their reception was picnic themed, hence the little ants.
I seriously love the idea of a rice krispie cake!

The cross stitch I made for them of the Logan Temple.
The stitched the words to the chorus of their song in the border.
Did you find you were falling like I have been falling for you?
Were you counting the days before seeing my face?
Tell the truth, does love like this really just happen?
Baby, forgive me for asking, but how could it be that you wanted me?

Cutting the cake turned out to be a pretty big challenge.

Almost as big as trying to chew it.

No matter how happy we all were, by the end of the day I'm fairly certain we all felt a little like this:

And if not like that, then at least like this:

N8OT8O!

Today is Nate's birthday!

I seriously love my brother so much and everything he has done for me.

He has been such a fantastic role model for me and I look to him for strength a lot especially when I have been looking at the same Organic chemistry problem for like an hour and still can't figure out what to do.

Happy birthday Nathan! I love you and your cute little family so much!

Someday I hope I can follow in your footsteps :)

I got promoted and it feels so good!

Okay, so today was a new experience for me.
I walked away from my job as a Developmental Therapist for maybe the last time ever.

Don't you worry your pretty little minds, I have another job waiting for me, so it's not like I'm just going to sit around doing nothing.

On Tuesday I was approached about a promotion. I was extremely excited because I have been barely getting by on my paycheck, but then I heard these words, "We are looking to give you about 35 hours a week."

Oof.

I was fairly positive that there was NO WAY in the sam heck I was going to be able to squeeze in 35 hours to my already nightmare-ish schedule. I thought that this promotion was going to be...well, not happening.

Then the next day I was told that only 30 hours were required and my dreams opened up again. But then I got to thinking about the time I sat down to see if I could fit 30 hours into my schedule to be promoted to a DT2 and it just wasn't possible and I started thinking that this was still a little far fetched to be thinking about.

That night I sat down in front of an Excel spreadsheet and worked out my schedule. Don't ask me how, but 30 hours just opened up. I remember counting and recounting the hours for the other promotion...so how in the world was it working out now?

The answer is, I don't know. I am just thinking that this promotion is what I should be pursuing (even though it's still not what I want to do with the rest of my life).

So as of Monday I will be on the run from 8:00 in the morning to 8:00 in the evening as a Billing Assistant followed by studying...

I just might die.

Pray for me!

February is Nuts...

February is the shortest month of the year...so how in the world did my family manage to cram what seems like EVERY SINGLE important event into it?
(I only say that because I was born in February and I seem to have picked up a very narcissistic attitude from somewhere...)

February 9th: Nathan has his birthday. Granny would have been celebrating her birthday this day as well. Miss you Granny!

February 10th: Grandma Owen celebrates her birthday.

February 13th: Phoebe turns three.

February 15th: Rebecca has her birthday.

February 17th: Brendan and Witney have their reception.

February 18th: Bren and Wit will be sealed for TIME AND ETERNITY! Finally...

February 22nd: Little Grey turns 1! My how the year has flown...

February 23rd: I finally leave the desolate wasteland that is teenager-hood

(Also, I'm fairly certain that my grandpa on my mom's side was born somewhere in the middle of the month. Mom?)

Seriously, there's an average of one important event every 3.6 days or somewhere in that ballpark.
