Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

The 'It' mentioned in the title of this post refers my life for the last week :)

Don't you just love when you actually get stuff in the mail???
I had to take a picture so I would remember the awesome-ness I felt at this moment.

On Sunday afternoon Mom, Dad, Maci, and I made the trip to IF to see the family.
This little guy is growing up SO fast!
Can you believe he's already three months old?
He looks more and more like Ronnie every day.

We also had a new experience!
Nate and Rebecca were able to come up and visit for the weekend
and they introduced us to Wild Asparagus Hunting.
This is Maci and I before we left.

Here I am afterwards.
I look awful because it was raining and windy :P
Asparagus hunting is so dang hard!

It grows along ditch banks in the Idaho Falls area.
You would think that it would be pretty easy to spot, but it's NOT!
I was pretty awful at it until Rebecca's brother came and helped me.
It was actually a lot of fun even if it was cold and wet and miserable the whole time.

The three sisters sharing their spoils!

I was so happy to get to see these guys!
Rebecca is due October 5 and is having a little baby boy!
I can't wait to see the Three Amigos running around and playing together.

Sleepy little Isaac!
He definitely doesn't like to wake up!
He's adorable and looks just like an Owen.

Maci and Greysen.
Maci got her braces off recently and this was the first time I saw her without them for almost two years!
Doesn't she look so gorgeous?
She's seriously growing up :(

Oh, and thanks to Lindsay for lots of the pictures on this blog!

The Results Are In!

It was a close race, but in the end it looks like there was in fact a winner!

Root beer and peanuts. Don't knock it till you try it!

10 Pet Peeves

1. When people say "I could care less"

By saying that you could care less, you could in fact be saying that you care a great deal, which is obviously not what you mean.

2. Wen ppl type lyk dis

  Need I say more?

3. Yawn pokes

Derek, this one's for you! Yawning is a beautiful thing and when it gets poked it ruins a beautiful moment!

4. When people measure a player's prowess by how many rings they've gotten.

You know, you get a ring if you ride the bench too...just sayin'!

5. When people use the wrong form of there or your.

We learned this in third grade people!

6. When white people think they're black and wear their pants halfway down their butt resulting in a Franken-duck walk.

7. When people make fun of Soda Springs.

It may be small, but if you've never been there you can't (and SHOULDN'T) judge

8. When you're one card away from going down in Books and Runs (or Nasty if you belong to the Stoor family) and the person right before you goes down and OUT!

I have ruined many a good score because of this!

9. When someone has a new boyfriend of girlfriend every other week and they claim to LOVE every one of them.

No you don't. Don't kid yourselves.

10. Slow internet connections.

Who I Am

Who I am is probably my favorite song of all time.
I have always felt like it describes my life perfectly
(even though it has been pointed out to me that it fits just about everyone's life)
My favorite part of the song goes like this:
And when I make a big mistake
When I fall flat on my face
I know I'll be alright
And should my tender heart be broken
I will cry those teardrops knowin'
I'm gonna be just fine
Cause I know exactly who I am

Some other songs that I've been liking a lot recently are:

Without You by Keith Urban (but then again I love anything this man sings)

Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not by Thompson Square

A Little Bit Stronger by Sara Evans

I Won't Let Go by Rascal Flatts (Another group I can't get enough of)

What Do You Want From Me by Jerrod Niemann

Just a Kiss by Lady Antebellum (I love every one of their songs but Lookin' for a Good Time :P)

Raymond by Brett Eldredge

Barefoot Blue Jean Nights by Jake Owen (It's so catchy!)

And last but not least

Don't You Wanna Stay by Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson

A legacy

I got a message on Facebook from my friend Allison saying that she and the rest of the stake heard a story about me at seminary graduation last night.
I found this a little odd because I haven't lived in Moscow for almost four years.

She later informed me that Brother Banks was speaking about how sometimes God makes divine signatures on certain times in our lives.

He shared the story about how I met Brianne Kline, the girl who changed my life.
If you don't know there's a watered down version here. It's down toward the bottom. Reason number 8.
I honestly didn't think that this story would make such a big impact on anyone's life but my own.
Brother Banks got up and told everyone that he had asked my permission to share this story
(It was YEARS ago! It may have actually been right after I bore my testimony about it at Youth Conference)
I don't think he would have taken no for an answer anyway.
He also told them that he had been waiting three years to share this story.
Why he waited that long, I don't know.
He must have felt impressed that someone needed to hear my story at that time and not before.
It's crazy for me to think about:
Did I really make a difference?
In my hour of despair, did I maybe change someone's life?
And without the knowledge of it?

All I can say is I don't know, but I hope whoever needed to hear it that night did.
I hope my legacy will live on in the hearts of those who heard it.
And I hope you all know what a big impact this has made on my life.

My Best Friend

I know that I have written about Carley a few times, but I just can't seem to say enough about this girl.

To be perfectly honest, we're polar opposites.

She's blonde...I'm brunette

She's outgoing...I'm shy

She makes friends easily...I have to really work at it

She's artistic...I'm more of a math and science person

She's fashion forward...I'm fashion backward most of the time

She's absolutely amazing in absolutely every sense of the word...okay, that's a quality we share ;)

She's creative...Google's creative for me

She dyes her hair...I'm partial to my natural color

She's involved with class elections...I'm NOT

But even though we have a lot of differences, none of it really seems to matter.
We know what really matters is what's on the inside and we like to focus on those things.

  • We both love bird watching (even though I don't think either of us has done it in awhile)
  • We both love Dove chocolate. When one of us is having a bad day the other one usually finds a way to get the other some chocolate.
  • We love getting together for movie nights.
  • We both love making cookies (just not for the entire school like for that Good Works project right Car?)
  • We both love scary movies (and agree that most of them aren't that scary)
  • We both love to write
  • We both love music
  • Most importantly, we both love each other.

I will stand by this girl to the end!

Now here's the hard part to fathom...she graduates on June 3rd.
It was hard for both of us when I graduated last year, but we knew that I would only be an hour away.
But now she's going to be going to Logan and I'll still be here in Pocatello and it'll be even harder to see each other.
No matter how much I like growing up....it stinks sometimes doesn't it?

I love you Carley Sue!
